This is practice text taken from an old academic reading book titled, “Around Green Hills“.
Dick Finds a Friend
A long way from Green Hills was a farm. On this farm lived a little boy. His name was Dick Wills,
Many animals lived on this farm. They were Dick’s good friends. He had names for all of them.
Dick had many things a boy would want. But he did not have a boy to play with.
Farm Hats
One day the twins went to see Dick’s farm.
Penny had on a big farm hat. Pat had on a big farm hat, too.
Dick laughed and said,
“Your hats are just like my hat. Where did you get them?”
Pat said, “Father gave them to us.”
“Hats are good things to have on a farm,” said Dick
Then the twins went with Dick to see his garden.
Pat Takes a Ride
The twins went to the farm many times to play.
One morning Penny said, “Dick, when dot the animals eat?”
“They eat in the morning, and they eat at night,” said Dick.
It is time to feed them now.”
Pat said, “We would like to help.”
“Come with me,” said Dick. “first we will feed my dog.”
